Setting up a Zip Security & Fleet Device Management Integration

Icon
The Fleet Device Management integration is currently in beta and has limited support.
At this time, we do not recommend connecting Fleet Device Management to the Zip Console if you also have Jamf or Intune connected. Please contact support at support@zipsec.com with any questions.

Create an API Token

We recommend using an API-only user’s API key, as this key does not expire and won’t require frequent updates in the Zip Console.
Follow Fleet’s docs to create the API key: https://fleetdm.com/guides/fleetctl#using-fleetctl-with-an-api-only-user. We recommend setting it up with the admin role.

Connect Fleet Instance to Zip

  1. Go to https://console.zipsec.com/organizationsettings?tab=providers
  1. Click “Add” > “Fleet Device Management” and enter the URL and and API token. Click “Save”.
  1. Once the provider is added, a data refresh will be kicked off. Confirm that the refresh finishes successfully and fetched the devices from Fleet.

Enable Controls

Fleet devices are supported in the Device Enrollment and CrowdStrike Falcon controls. These controls are currently read-only for Fleet and can help track the progress of enrollment but do not have actions to enroll or install CrowdStrike on devices.
